A little about me…

Welcome to my little corner of the world in Southern Oregon.  My name is Amy and I’m so glad you stopped by!

I am a woman walking through life with the Lord directing my steps.

I am also divorced after a 20-year abusive marriage and the mother of two sons, ages 25 and 22. I have worn many hats in my life a few of which include being a Bradley Method certified childbirth educator, a doula, a midwifery student, a barista and a medical assistant. But my greatest accomplishments are that of a mother and wife.

My first blog was started here in 2010 as a way for me to work through a separation and eventual divorce after a 20 year psychologically abusive marriage. The words on that blog were typed through tears, heartache and the hanging on we do when the journey seems never ending and hopeless. During those days of wandering in search of answers, I found my way back to the Lord and came to fully see that no matter what life brings my way I can be grateful through it all and continue to praise Him.

My life has been full of joy and heartache, laughter and tears, as all lives are.  And thankfully, the Lord has walked with me through it all and continues to shape and mold me into the woman He desires.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts, ideas and dreams, with a dash or two of encouragement and hope thrown in for all who find their way here.

Blessings!

  2. Hi Amy! I just discovered your blog, and would like to compliment you on its encouraging, uplifting tone. Nicely done! I’ve added it to a list of positive blogs I keep on my own site. 🙂

  3. I just found your blog. Today’s especially spoke my heart, and my mind. I’m “headed nowhere” and perhaps it’s time for that to change. But you spoke every thought, right down to the fear of having lost faith.
BTW, not sure if you ever visited Tillamook, OR, but that is the hometown of Pastor Jeff Cropper of “A Cry For Justice” website. He is on the front lines of exposing the evil of Emotional Abuse and would be a great and valuable counsel. 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Robin!
Yes, I have been to Tillamook, OR, used to live in Portland and now in Southern Oregon. I visit a Cry For Justice website often and it helped me greatly during the time years back after my ex walked out. I love their information and often refer people to them.
