A little about me…

Welcome to my little corner of the world in Southern Oregon.  My name is Amy and I’m so glad you stopped by!

I am a woman walking through life with the Lord directing my steps and this life I lead is what inspires my thoughts on this blog.

I am the wife to a wonderful man, the mother of two amazing sons, ages 28 and 24, and the survivor of a 20-year abusive marriage. Aside from being a wife and mother, I have worn many hats in my life, a few of which include being a Bradley Method certified childbirth educator, a doula, a midwifery student, a barista, a medical assistant, and most recently, a health coach.

My first blog was started in 2009 as a way to begin healing after a separation and eventual divorce following a 20 year emotionally, verbally, mentally, and spiritually abusive marriage. The words on that blog (now disabled), were typed through tears, heartache, and the hanging on we do when the journey seems never ending and hopeless. During those days of wandering in search of answers, I found my way back to the Lord and came to fully see that no matter what life brings my way, I can be grateful through it all and continue to praise Him. That is when this blog, Life Inspired Thoughts, was born.

My life has been full of joy and heartache, laughter and tears, as all lives are.  And thankfully, the Lord has walked with me through it all and continues to shape and mold me into the woman He desires.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts, ideas and dreams, with a dash or two of encouragement and hope thrown in for all who find their way here.

  1. Amy,
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and deciding to join me on my journey. I’m so happy to have you follow along – I hope you will come back often! I’m so happy you are finding smiles along the way. Keep looking, there are a lot more out there!
    Thanks again,

  2. Hi Amy! I just discovered your blog, and would like to compliment you on its encouraging, uplifting tone. Nicely done! I’ve added it to a list of positive blogs I keep on my own site. 🙂

  3. I just found your blog. Today’s especially spoke my heart, and my mind. I’m “headed nowhere” and perhaps it’s time for that to change. But you spoke every thought, right down to the fear of having lost faith.
BTW, not sure if you ever visited Tillamook, OR, but that is the hometown of Pastor Jeff Cropper of “A Cry For Justice” website. He is on the front lines of exposing the evil of Emotional Abuse and would be a great and valuable counsel. 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Robin!
Yes, I have been to Tillamook, OR, used to live in Portland and now in Southern Oregon. I visit a Cry For Justice website often and it helped me greatly during the time years back after my ex walked out. I love their information and often refer people to them.
